Nightlife

Trendy bars are ubiquitous, especially in the area around the Bourla Theatre and Fine Arts Museum. Kleine Bourla (3 Kelderstraat, 03 232 1632, closed Sun) attracts the literary, arty set. Also take a look around Vrijdagmarkt for trendy boozing. For something more traditional, try the (in)famous Den Engel (3 Grote Markt, 03 233 1252), an Antwerp institution and one of the oldest pubs in the city. Antwerp’s nightlife is legendary. Café d’Anvers is the most famous venue of them all (15 Verversui, 03 226 3870, www.cafedanvers.com), with Red & Blue (11-13 Lange Schipperskapelstraat, 03 213 0555, www.redandblue.be) being the biggest gay dance club in Benelux. Club Industria (Indiëstraat 10, 03 234 0992, www.clubindustria.be) is sexy, moody and perfect for preening.
