Nightlife

Things get lively at night near C/Pedro Antonio de Alarcón, to the west of the historic centre, where there are many bars popular with Granada’s student population.

Granada has one of the best-established flamenco traditions in Spain, but the regular shows held for tourists in the Sacromonte caves are notoriously clichéd and uninspired. If you’re keen on flamenco, visit a serious venue like Peña de la Platería (Placeta de Toqueros 7, 958 210 650). Or, if you hang around long enough in Plaza de San Nicolás (or any of several such squares), you might just catch a spontaneous session by some locals.
