Between them Vegas casinos provide upwards of 100 shows every day, from small-scale magic demonstrations to big-budget theatrical extravaganzas. The most popular shows are arguably those of Cirque du Soleil, such as ‘O’ (see Top 5) at the Bellagio (3600 Las Vegas Boulevard South, NV 89109, +17026937722, www.bellagio.com), Mystère at TI (3300 Las Vegas Boulevard South, NV 89109, +17028947722, www.treasureisland.com) and Zumanity at New York New York (3790 Las Vegas Boulevard South, +17027406815, www.zumanity.com). Other popular shows include stand-up comedy from Rita Rudner at the New York New York (New York New York, 3790 Las Vegas Boulevard South, +17027406815, www.nynyhotelcasino.com) and magicians Penn & Teller at the Rio (3700 W Flamingo Road, West of Strip, +17027777776, www.playrio.com).
During the late 1990s, Las Vegas nightlife was dominated by megaclubs. Now, though, smaller, calmer ‘ultralounges’ have become the hot new thing. If you’re looking for beautiful young things and the place to party, you’ll find both at Rain in the Desert (Palms, 4321 W Flamingo Road, +17029407246, www.rainatthepalms.com). Egyptian-themed Ra (Luxor, 3900 Las Vegas Boulevard South, +17022624000, www.rathenightclub.com) packs in the Euro crowd.
