Hotels

A cluster of hotels can be found near the train station, although most are fairly corporate. The Mercure Grand Hotel Alfa (16 place de la Gare, 490 0111, www.accorhotels.com, €125-€160) has smarter rooms. The Grand Hôtel Cravat (29 boulevard FD Roosevelt, 221975, www.hotelcravat.lu, €160-€250), one of the city’s finest hotels, offers a more classic experience. The Auberge Gaglioti (64 rue du Fort Neipperg, 490039, €80-€120) is a newly renovated guesthouse with reasonable prices. In the old town, the family-owned Rix (20 boulevard Royal, 471666, www.hotelrix.lu, €165-€180) is slightly 1970s in feel but perfectly located, while the Schintgen (6 rue Notre Dame, 222844, €85) is a very decent two-star slap bang in the centre, as is the Hôtel Français (14 place d’Armes, 474534, www.hotelfrancais.lu, €118-€125).
