The performing arts festival, Les Nuits de Fourvière, sets the Lyon-Fourvière Roman Amphitheatre buzzing each July. But the most famous event, the Festival of Lights, takes place at the end of the year. Held every December since 1852, each window is lit with candles, and a procession held by lantern light. Concerts and events surround the procession.
