Lyon rivals Paris for designer shopping; wander the streets leading off the place Bellecour, notably rue Emile Zola, rue du Président Edouard Herriot and place Kléber, and also around the Théâtre des Célestins. Local produce, including saucisson sec and St-Marcellin cheese, is found at the open-air markets on quai St-Antoine and the Croix-Rousse hill, and the covered market on cours Lafayette.
