Shopping

Mirrors, lace, capiz-shell lanterns, and enough hand-carved trinkets to fill an entire fireplace mantle are usually what end up in carry-on bags when tourists return from the markets. Divisoria, on the Binondo side, has the most to offer, although Quinta, under the Quezon Bridge in Quiapa, runs a close second. Both are open daily. As usual, wear your mirrored spy glasses so you can watch for pickpockets while you bargain. The barong (the long, formal men's shirt) is always a hot ticket for tourists simply because the locals make it look so wearable.
